RV Ready for iPhone

RV Ready is an iPhone app designed to help RVers keep track of all the things that need to be done when preparing for a trip, arriving at a campsite, or performing annual maintenance like winterization. This is a basic checklist app with a focus on ease of use for RVers.

Basic objectives for the app include:
  • Easy to use
  • Readable in landscape mode with larger font for those of us who can't find our reading glasses
  • Allow inclusion of a photo when needed
  • Let us build reusable lists that can be checked off as we go through them and then cleared easily when ready to reuse them
In addition to giving checklists names, I've included the idea of checklist categories. For example, let's say we have two RVs, one is a travel trailer and the other is a motorhome. We could have two categories for our checklists. One for Travel Trailer and the other for Motorhome. I've included some sample checklists with the app to give you an idea how to use categories. You can rename and modify these sample checklists. You can even reload the samples by setting the reload switch under RV Ready in the iPhone Settings app.

Planned future enhancements include integration with iCloud to share your lists with all your iOS devices, and the capability to send lists you create to your friends who would like to share with you.

RV Ready is a free app supported by ads that appear at the bottom of the screens.

Even though RV Ready was built for RVers, it's also a general-purpose checklist app that uses iOS gestures like swipe left to complete or right to reset. A tap on a list opens a new checklist item that you can edit. A long-press will allow you to delete individual items. A three-figure touch on a list will allow you to reset the entire list to "not-done". You can even reorder items in the list as needed.

Please post questions, comments, problems here. I will take all feedback and work to improve the app for RVers. I use it myself, and I want to keep it easy to use.

Available as of Friday, June 21, 2013 from the App Store.

  1. I'm trying to figure out how to delete any unwanted categories. I want one category (Alpine 5th Wheel) with its needed checklists. I'm running this on my iphone. The help page is cut off at the top and bottom.

  2. Hi, thanks for posting your question.

You don't have to delete a category -- it goes away when the last checklist using it is deleted or moved to another category. If you want to delete the sample checklists, on the Checklists screen just slide left on the checklist and the red delete button will appear. Press it and the checklist is permanently deleted, along with the category if no other checklists use that category.

If you want to keep the checklist and move it to another category, press the blue arrow button on the checklist name and edit the Category to the new category "Alpine 5th Wheel".

If I failed to answer your question, please let me know.

Also, I'm about ready to release an update that fixes an issue with reordering items in a checklist and also allows you to turn off the photo field if you don't want photos on your checklist.
